2008 Start! Des Moines Heart Walk
We had 14 walkers and collected almost $3,000 for the Heart Association. We also hosted a table and demonstrated the
use of AEDs and CPR. This was an awesome way to end the AED / CPR Awareness week!
Valley Junction Farmers Market June 5, 2008
For the first AED / CPR Awareness week, we had a booth at the Valley Junction Farmers Market. We demonstrated AEDs and explained
why they were important and needed.

Demonstrating AEDs at the State Capitol
Iowa AED Access for All along with the American Heart Association demonstrated
how AEDs work to people at the State Capitol. We were especially excited
when Senator Danielson came down with Senate Resolution 148, which recognizes
the "lifesaving benefits of automatic external defibrillators".

Mary and Julie had dinner with the SCAA Board of Directors
The SCAA Board of Directors invited Iowa AED Access for All and the
Minnesota SCA Survivors Network to dinner. We discussed our accomplishments,
the future of SCAA and how we can move forward to save lives.

Iowa AED Access for All hosted the First Annual SCA Survivors Summit.
It was a fantastic day!

Goes to Washington
Mary was asked by the American Heart Association to go with them to
Washington DC to speak.

Class 2007
Susie taught the Heart Savers CPR class and 10 members received certification!
This is the first step in becoming certified trainers.

You're the Cure Lobby Day
Mary was invited to speak at the 2007 American Heart Association's You're
the Cure Lobby day.
- Sudden
Cardiac Arrest Summit 2006
The Minnesota Sudden Cardiac Arrest Network hosted the 2nd Annual Survivors
Summit. There were 33 survivors in attendance! There was support, education,
laughter, tears and heartfelt moments. There were 7 of us from Iowa,
and we felt very honored to be invited!

State Fair - CPR
We joined forces with the AHA, Iowa CPR Education Foundation, Mercy
Medical Center and Iowa Health to present CPR Anytime to over 150 State
Fair participants. It was a great success!
- Cubbies
We were invited to participate in The "Thrivent Builds with Habitat
for Humanity" day at the Iowa Cubs on June 25, 2006. We had a nice morning,
and helped to get many signatures to take to Washington DC!
